A new football stadium for dulwich hamlet fc.
The existing stadium used by Dulwich Hamlet FC is in a poor state of repair and has poor sight lines which would prevent the club securing promotion. The ground cannot be redeveloped within the existing site because a stadium to the correct standards will not fit, and so the key move is to relocate the football stadium onto an adjacent site.
This provides the opportunity to redevelop the existing stadium as six residential blocks containing 224 dwellings. The predicted resale value of the new dwellings provides cross-subsidy funding for the construction of the new stadium and pitch, thereby securing the future of Dulwich Hamlet FC
The residential blocks are set in fully accessible landscape. There are clearly defined east-west routes through the site at the north and the south of the site. The centre of the site has a semi-private communal garden for use by residents.
The scheme also provides a range of community facilities including a MUGA and open air street gymn both of which have open access and are free to use by anyone, and a leisure centre which reporovides the sports facilities found in the existing stadium, but in an improved and enlarged format.
