A visit to an exciting new eco-friendly residential district was the highlight of a recent architectural study trip to Stockholm.
The developers of Hammarby Sjostad have been successful in reducing the emissions of their housing development by 50% less than those of others built in the same period. Methods of achieving this include the use of renewable energy from an underground pneumatic waste disposal system and from the recycling of waste water for heating/cooling and biogas fuel.
