‘The office fills with wonderful smells that happily distract us’
Each Wednesday, one person in the practice volunteers to cook, normally for about 20 or 30 people. It started about 18 months ago with just baked potatoes. Our studio is close to Borough food market and we have a fantastic kitchen with a huge oven, so people decided that it would be a great idea to cook for ourselves.
People in the practice come from all over the world, so we’ve had delicious meals including Danish pancakes, Irish stews, Japanese curry, Chinese food, Indian onion bhajis with chutneys, which were extremely tasty, and a German noodle caked in cheese that was a killer in terms of cholesterol. This week was a beef and tofu curry with basmati rice and a wonderful green salad — of course, there’s an element of competition.
