Planning approval for new affordable homes in Peckham
Planning approval has been given for 21 new affordable homes to be built in Peckham, London SE15.The new £3.5 million development in Chesterfield Way has been designed by Southwark-based Alan Camp Architects for developer Metroliving. The homes will consist of 10 three-bedroom flats and 11 two-bedroom flats.
The four-storey development reflects the pattern of courtyard-style developments found in the area and features copper panels and recessed balconies which will break up the building’s facade. Existing trees around the edge of the site will be retained.
Energy-efficient air source heat pumps, which absorb heat from the outside air, are incorporated into the scheme and will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 25 per cent.
