Alan Camp Architects Go Dutch
In October, 27 members of the office flew to the Dutch capital on an architectural pilgrimage. Firstly we were given a warm reception at the offices of Soeters van Eldonk; one of the leading architectural practices in Holland. Then for 3 days we travelled; by road, rail and waterway, visiting sites of architectural interest in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
We toured the recently developed residential districts of Nieuw-Terbregge, Katendrecht and Loyddquarter in Rotterdam; sailed around the iconic buildings of Amsterdam’s Eastern Islands in a traditional salonboat and explored on foot the experimental housing on the artificial islands of Ijburg.
The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all and left many of us feeling inspired.
